Adam Manders – Head of Vessel Operations

Adam Manders’ career reflects a lifelong commitment to the maritime industry, built on strong leadership, professional excellence and a deep dedication to the people who work at sea.

Adam began his career as an Able Seaman and progressed through the ranks to qualify as a Master Mariner, gaining extensive operational experience across a range of vessels. His hands-on background continues to shape his leadership style today — practical, decisive and grounded in a strong understanding of vessel operations and life at sea.

Moving ashore, Adam developed his expertise in maritime safety and compliance, taking on the role of Designated Person Ashore (DPA). In this position, he helped ensure international and domestic safety standards were not only met but embedded within everyday operations, reinforcing a culture where safety and operational excellence go hand in hand.

Adam later joined Strait Link as Ship Manager, a critical role supporting the Bass Strait freight service that connects Tasmania with mainland Australia. He oversees vessel operations, crew welfare, training and compliance across the fleet, ensuring safe and reliable services across one of Australia’s most demanding shipping routes.

A defining feature of Adam’s career is his commitment to developing people. He actively mentors crew and supports the professional growth of seafarers across all ranks, helping build the capability of Strait Link’s teams and contributing to the future of Australia’s maritime workforce.

Outside of his professional role, Adam remains closely connected to the maritime community. He is an active member of the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria and has competed in ten Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races, along with numerous offshore events. He has also used his sailing experience to support communities across the Pacific.

Throughout his career, Adam has demonstrated the professionalism, leadership and passion that underpin a strong and resilient maritime industry.

Rail Operations Manager – Nathan Bott

Nathan Bott, Rail Operations Manager based at our Seaquip site in Burnie, is a great example of how dedication, hard work and a willingness to learn can open doors across the business.

Nathan joined the company in May 2014, starting his career in the wash bay, cleaning containers and supporting daily operations. Over the years, he continued to build his skills and experience, progressing through a range of operational roles including Operator, Rail Coordinator and Operations Supervisor before stepping into his current leadership position.

Today, Nathan is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Burnie railyard, ensuring trains depart on time, operations run safely and efficiently, and freight moves through the network smoothly to help deliver the reliable service our customers depend on.

Maeve McCoy – HR Graduate

After completing her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources in late 2024, Maeve initially worked in marketing and communications before deciding to pursue her passion for people and workplace culture through a career in HR.
